With a marketing department originally guided by dating industry guru Nick Abramovich, and eventually Romain Galoisy, Zoosk achieved amazing growth in 2009 and 2010. Everything Zoosk did during this time period seemed to be over the top. For example, they were the first dating site I ever saw that had rap videos made about them.
It looks like Zoosk might be losing some steam now based on their Alexa chart:
Perhaps the TV ads aren’t quite as effective as the Facebook Ads were? What went wrong in the Zoosk model that caused traffic to slam into reverse mode? Time will tell.
