Hackers are targeting cpanel.net and WHMCS. As I write this post both sites are unavailable. If you’ve needed anything from Cpanel or WHMCS over the past hour you’ve probably also received the dreaded failed to connect error message. These attacks come just days after the massive GoDaddy downtime blitz they now say was the result of an internal network event – who really knows.
It feels like the whole internet industry has gone full circle. AOL stock is running north 300%, 14 year old hackers are taking down the largest sites in business, online advertising has all gone back to weight loss and adult entertainment – I guess downtime makes me feel nostalgic.
